Our Mission

Make Goals Not War has a simple mission: to build a better and more peaceful world.

War destroys the lives of countless people every day.  The vast majority of these are innocent victims, ordinary people caught in the crossfire.  These people are human beings, just like us - they have the same hopes and dreams, passions and fears.  We believe that the continued existence of war is wholly unacceptable and preventable.

The international community must work much harder to end this massive scale of suffering.  The primary objective of the United Nations Charter is to prevent and stop international conflicts and to protect human life.  We urge the international community to redouble its efforts to ensure peace and live up to the spirit of the Charter.

We all have a responsibility to build a better and more peaceful world.  To achieve this end, Make Goals Not War will:

  • Educate and raise awareness, particularly among young people, about the devastation wrought by war and about the responsibility of the international community to end this devastation.
  • Support charitable initiatives working on the front lines to assist children and peoples affected by war.
  • Build on soccer’s near universal appeal and its potential as an instrument to bring people together and foster peace.
  • Advocate for the protection of human life and for creative solutions to end international conflict.
  • Collaborate and establish partnerships with non-governmental organizations, international organizations, and businesses within the private sector that share similar objectives, in order to advance our mission.
